_AI Leadership, Strategic Planning and Artificial Intelligence [AI] in Schools.jpg

Leadership, Strategic Planning and Artificial Intelligence [AI] in Schools For school leaders and teachers  (FP, IP, SP and FET)

This workshop empowers school leaders and teachers to become informed decision-makers regarding the strategic integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within their educational context. Participants will critically evaluate their school's readiness for AI adoption, considering both the potential benefits and the need for proactive planning to address challenges. Central to this process is a careful examination of ethical considerations surrounding AI, ensuring that its use upholds values of fairness, transparency, and responsibility.

The workshop will guide participants in aligning AI integration with their school's unique vision, and strategic plan. This alignment is important in a world shaped by the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR) and the rapid changes it brings – ensuring that AI serves as a tool to enhance learning experiences and prepare students for an increasingly technology-driven future.

Key focus areas included are:

Understanding the fundamentals of AI, its different applications, and the implications for the education sector.

Assessing the school's current technological infrastructure, staff competencies, and overall change readiness.

Exploring the ethical dimensions of AI, including concerns about bias, privacy, and the potential impact on learner-teacher relationships.

Developing a collaborative approach to AI implementation, involving teachers, students, parents, and the broader community.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have gained a deeper understanding of AI's potential, developed a critical lens for evaluating AI tools, and begun crafting a roadmap for responsible and impactful AI integration within their school.
