SA National AI Policy Framework

South Africa has a National Artificial Policy Framework, which was published in October 2024 by the South African Department of Communication and Digital Technologies.

The eventual framework will serve as the foundational basis for creating AI regulations and eventually an AI Act for our country, South Africa.

The public was asked for comment on the SA National AI Policy Framework, by 17h00 on Friday, 29 November 2024.

This post is my reply to the October 2024 version of the South African National AI Policy Framework.

The Framework is built around a range of strategic pillars. Access this framework in the link at the beginning of the post on the DCDT website.

Each point in the letter refers to a particular strategic pillar/s, with a recommendation and comment.

Each comment is hyperlinked to a particular point within the letter. Click on the links to view further document details.
