Critical and Creative Thinking
Developing Critical & Creative Thinking in the Classroom
In a changing world critical and creative thinking are important in the classroom.
The purpose of this two-hour session, is for teachers to explore the value of incorporating critical and creative thinking into their lessons by asking relevant questions.
Investigating ideas of how to integrate creative and critical thinking tasks and activities into lessons, to engage learners and keep them on task. We’ll explore what critical thinking is and investigate practical ways of integrating it into lessons, so learners develop this skill set.
Inspire your learners to be curious!
In this workshop, we'll explore ideas of how to bring curiosity into your lessons!
Encouraging children to think differently! To questions!
Albert Einstein said "The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing." We need to inspire and not kill curiosity in the learners we teach.
Encourage them to ask the questions!
Papert argues that children have a natural curiosity and a desire to learn, and that this innate ability should be nurtured and supported. He also emphasises the importance of providing children with a rich and stimulating learning environment, filled with opportunities for exploration and discovery. This is supported by Seymour Papert (Logo)
So how are you encouraging curiosity? Let's explore driving curiosity and questioning in lessons!
Critical Thinking - Empower your learners
In a digital world of AI, we need to teach our learners to be critical thinkers.
To ask questions and not just believe what they see!

We'll explore critical thinking ideas on how to teach the 4Cs/6Cs (communication, creativity, collaboration and critical thinking).

Critical thinking strategies in the classroom include asking the right questions and encouraging thinking and doing.

How do we ask the correct question?

How do we get learners to ask questions?
It is ALL about the question!
Explore questioning techniques!
Promote teaching where learners are encouraged to ask questions, debate and come up with solutions!

Ken Robinson (TED2006) Do schools kill creativity? said: “We have to rethink the fundamental principles on which we're educating our children.”
I think this is still true!

In the age of AI encouraging questioning, not taking things for granted is very important!

Let's brainstorm, explore and find ways to address this in your school through an interactive process. Thereby finding ways for individual teachers to see value in driving this in lessons! Let's talk!

Analytical & Critical Thinking in the Lessons
This workshop is aimed at encouraging teachers to explore and consider teaching learners to be analytical thinkers. Learning how to validate information. Assess whether the information is accurate.
Thinking critically about what they are reading or seeing and to make meaningful and accurate decisions, based on facts.
With fake news, AI hallucinations and inaccuracies around us, in this changing future we need learners to be truly critical and analytical thinkers.
We investigate teaching strategies to consider to encourage critical and analytical thinking, in teaching and assessment.

Finally, investigate the importance of considering ethics and values, and how critical thinking is beneficial in addressing these considerations.
Conclude by reminding teachers to encourage their learners to be responsible digital users.
Artifical Intelligence and Machine Learning in Schools
Explore incorporating AI and ML into your school - for both administrative tasks and into lessons as a teaching resource
This workshop helps teachers how to teach learners about AI and Machine Learning, using tools such as Machine learning for kids, in IT or coding lessons.
Expose learners to how Ai is being used in different real-life situations already.
Explore how AI is used in education
Investigate how would AI be of benefit to the teacher in the classroom?
Why AI would assist the administration department of a school?
What do you think of using facial recognition in schools?
Do you think Emotion AI would be useful in schools?
Why should schools not ignore AI?
